Does one need to "baby" the macbook air?

my 2006 mb literally melted 2 nights ago power cord being hot plastic side melted , forced me pickup new emergency laptop asap finish projects. decided pickup base mba 13 , thing screams speed compared 2006 mb.

don't know mba wondering if laptop needed babied (it's thin!) avoid damage because stuff things in backpack. had plastic case before bends, unibody frame in mba dent if pressure no?

also, since ssd, mean hard drive not breakdown since doesn't have "spin?"

lastly...do people here enjoy new mbas? there lots of complaining on board seems. put in situation had pickup new laptop asap , missed school promotions, that, i'm enjoying new mba , haven't had of issues people here complain about.

last question first. love new mba. , complaining of issues (flash, lion, etc.) have yet encounter of problems. far, work on light, , kinda plan on keeping way.

not entirely sure breakdown of ssd. mba first piece of hardware solid state drive!

far babying goes, tend take care of it. yes, it's computer, seeing how has dropped 15" 2009 mbp , how body bent @ point ethernet port is, i'd rather not have same thing happen. resale value nice on (though don't plan on selling it), better can stay in great shape, more hold value.

yes, throw case on it, it's on how want handle it.
