iTunes not recognising iPhone OR iPad

please help, driving me crazy. jailbroke friend's phone on mac turned out not wanted restored again , gave him. neither own iphone or ipad jailbroken , don;t want them be. used timyumbrella during boot friend's phone recovery , maybe affecting things.... anyway...
syncing iphone today stuck on syncing , didn;t go anywhere unplugged it. itunes refused recognise @ (except when unplugged oddly, start going syncing iphone , stop). uninstalled , reinstalled itunes didn;t help. tried restoring iphone , itunes said phone wasn't eligible requested build. after trawling round turned out needed edit hosts file did , restored fine. restored phone backup afternoon. however, though phone restored itunes offers me restore screen asking if want set new phone or restore backup.
added this, plugged ipad in , stuck @ beginning of syncing haven't done else yet. old ipod classic syncs fine.
have suggestions has gone wrong here? again, neither iphone nor ipad jailbroken. driving me mad here, please help!

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
