USB Ubuntu doesn't boot

i have been trying make bootable ubuntu live usb disk , none of methods found online worked me.
followed official instruction here drive didn't show option when booting up.
tried unofficial method described here using ubuntu vm , time got "missing operating system" error before installation begin.
installing refit, using latest 11.10 beta , 64bit version didn't work.
don't have optical drive in 2011 mbp need work.

please help.
 

there's version of ubuntu 11.10 beta 2 designed booting macs, can found here. try that.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
