dreaded lion

i had been using nikon nx, picture project. photoshop cs2. purchased new imac, base model. nothing works, not scanner. have searched suitable replacement. cannot afford new photoshop @ moment. downloaded free elements, awful. capture nx2 without photoshop incomplete processing tool. don't believe aperture adequate. tried downloading lightroom. won't open up. suppose it's incompatible well. there programs similar picture project? when try processing in capture nx2 choose images iphoto, , ones open jpg, tiff, & nef cannot selected. processed image in capturenx2 in jpg , compared usual; nx, photoshop, in raw/tiff/jpg awful.

i'm having other computer had use few years; windows, (1 gig ram) fixed , have use it. @ least can scan b&w negs, , process digital raw images. reason purchased imac w/12 gig ram improve workflow. did know xos lion.

assistance.
 

i know not situation, in future advisable use super duper make bootable copy on external drive of finely tuned setup before update new os. know of has bootable copy of every 1 of setups tiger--just in case.

haven't updated lion yet because of incompatibility older versions of logic.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
