KVM for MBP and Mac Pro (DVI and Mini Displayport)

i've got older (2006) mac pro dvi out, , newer macbook pro mini displayport out, , i'd them both on desktop through kvm switch working 23" cinema display (aluminum, dvi) , keyboard/mouse. i've searched high , low simple recommendation, cannot find solid thing works setup.

here' (hopefully simple) question: if mini displayport kvm switch, adapt dvi both display , mac pro, work? it's understanding mini displayport higher in bandwidth dvi, , cause fewer problems dvi kvm switch.

or should go high-quality dvi kvm switch, , adapt mini displayport mbp?

guidance.
 

i hope i'm understanding correctly, pardon me if misunderstand.

of devices dvi exception of mbp, if go first suggestion, you'd going dvi mdp dvi...

second suggestion seems better alternative there less conversions involved. not mention go dvi mdp, simple adapter won't do. you'll need converter, , add considerable cost setup.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
