About This Mac: Backups

hey guys, didn't know if lion thing or macbook pro thing here goes:

checking out "about mac" feature, , under storage lists music/movies/apps etc, have 75gb of "backups", be? use time machine if makes difference backup on drive

appreciate info!
 

i have 271.9mb in backup portion..

said 75gb? sure? seems outrageous.

new 'recovery' partition lion creates?

maybe backups of app settings or that? maybe apps safari default?

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
