iPhoto - can I have photos on ext. hard disk?

i have base 13" mba , disk space precious.

of photos on external hard disk iphoto photo management software. thing is, when import photos iphoto, copies them onto disk, want avoid because have 30gb of photos.

there way see photos in iphoto when plug in external disk , can mess around them?

can in itunes see songs have can't play them unless external hard disk plugged in.

you use preview

view photos....create event, let preview build image window external hdd, select photos want edit.

mba being delivered in next couple of days, , i'm planning on doing similar. 256 not space when consider lion grabs chunk, , need office on too.

i'm hanging on top quality external ssd work video , music files. plan use air portable mixing desk, , amplitube on ipad.

have 1 or 2 projects on mba @ time......using @ night , field work.

rough cut done on air, on imac final burning etc.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
