2010 base 13" MBA or 2011 base 13" MBA for 63% more £££ ?

i'm sorry start another personal 'help me decide' thread, stuck one.

going buy wife macbook air birthday in 2 weeks. starting university (nursing degree) @ same time, entitled discount. means £945, can buy latest base 13" various improvements on 2010 model (thunderbolt unnecessary)...

  • 4gb ram
  • sandy bridge cpu
  • backlit keyboard

it's purchase new apple, has following further advantages...

  • it's brand new
  • comes free 3 year repair-only applecare.
  • £65 mac store credit

2010 base model available lot cheaper second hand in new condition. basically, £580, buying following...

  • "lightly used" condition
  • 2gb ram
  • core2duo
  • no backlit keyboard
  • no/little applecare
  • no store credit

...but saving £365 , comes 1 considerable advantage...

  • better (nvidia) gpu!

it's no-brainer - jump on possible discount brand new mac purchase, difference in price here quite considerable. £580 vs £945 - that's 63% increase , despite many advantages, still can't decide if it's worth cost.

have couple of questions may make difference...

1) 2gb ram (that cannot upgraded) in 2010 model deal-breaker. however, ssd available virtual memory, imagine 2gb limitation near noticeable slow laptop hard disk grinding on overflow. 2gb + ssd notice disadvantage?

2) when 2011 macbook air first came out. opinion on intel graphics 2010's nvidia gpu @ best, gpu new , there may plenty of room improvement driver updates in future. 2 months on, has there been improvement?

need make quick decision , 50/50 on @ moment. £365 difference important consideration me (ok, if wanted spend couple of hundred on windows laptop, but... come on :) ). if factor in app store credit , (not quite full) applecare, it's still @ least £200 saving - second hand computer yes, worse in specs? wife's usage of machine.

reading. opinions welcome.

sounds 2010 model fine then, assuming wife doesn't mind used machine. if there nothing cpu or gpu intensive involved, there practically no difference between 2010 , 2011 models.
