Books, dead trees and downsizing

i've loved books, , bought books whenever felt - on basis book always thing have.

now, load of books (many unread) in house , in storage, i'm facing realisation maybe i'd better off getting rid of of them. paying store books insane - 'cos pretty end paying replacement cost of books store them. i'm not reading these days, , when want read book quite convenience factor of being in electronic format (kindle, pdf, ibooks etc.).

i've converted lot of technical bookshelf on pdf versions (i threw out o'reilly books new versions published, , own of them on pdf). i've kept old novels though... , though may not read 'for whom bell tolls' again, kind of disturbs me rid of it. i'd move towards minimalist environment though - of media in digital form. feel need on attachment, , start get rid.

  • has else faced this?
  • anyone got rid of books entirely?
  • any tips on getting rid of books in 'humane' way? (selling on amazon seems more trouble it's worth... life short data entry , mailing less pound book).

there quite few charities sell books - perhaps couple appreciate bookish donation, , bonus you'll warm fuzzy feeling doing charitable.
