i've looked on these forums time , enjoy conversations! have decided come boards in crisis! have late 2006 macbook, white 13" core duo. @ rate, formatted hard drive (backed everything, nothing bootable), , then, found out not locate original tiger install disk came system. spent better part of day looking it. fortunately have friends allowed me try using new osx disks had never used/installed, legit try them out. each time booted these disks, got same message "mac osx can't installed on machine." believe occurred snow leopard, standard leopard, , tiger 10.4.8. since macbook bundled tiger 10.4.6, option @ point purchase old osx system no longer paperweight? much.

you can buy retail copy of snow leopard. i'm guessing trying use gray disks came friends' computers, won't work, model-specific. should still able find copies of sl, , it's $30. if using disk wasn't plain gray text (had either snow leopard or big x on it), need boot it, reformat drive hfs+ (journaled), , try again.
