Moving files and mirroring to HDTV

just got 2011 21.5 imac. used windows way of moving file. how move file downloads movies or wherever without copying it, using trackpad , mouse?

bought mini display hdmi adapter apple store few days ago. plugged in adapter hdmi plugged panasonic plasma hdtv recognized did not mirror or display on tv. how do that? hp laptop plug hdmi , tv , works right away.
 

afaik, moving file on same disc (meaning stays on same drive) easy simple drag , drop. won't copy file, instead move different destination. works on 10.6, i'm not sure 10.7. things more tricky when want move file 1 drive another, dragging , dropping file initiates copy , paste operation.

set mirror display, open system preferences. there, open displays. there should little box "mirror display" (or effect) without checkmark. check box, , displays should mirror.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
