i used able view local php files (containing html) in winxp without php server installed - worked in browser (ie, firefox, etc.).
on macbook air (2011), keep getting pop-up prompt in firefox - , in safari displays source code instead of rendering page.
how can preview php pages/files on mac without php server installed?
you can't. php server-side language must executed server before output sent browser. php server of type required.
i'm not sure think doing on windows machine, weren't rendering php files in browser without server. php doesn't work way.
perhaps had wamp installed? can install mamp on mac.
