Drobo alternative

i've been using drobo @ work year , full using 8x2tb drives. seeing it's not stable piece of hardware i've used, being pain boot up, wondering if recommend alternative ? similar functionality more stable great. has firewire 800 or similar setup directly attached imac media server , backup station 4 edit suites connect using gigabit ethernet. we'll implementing real server later on (maybe avid isis) waiting move bigger facility sometime next year.
 

just suggestion

if change environment little? if work on mac pro, has 2 ethernet ports. nas , plug mp's second ethernet port. give gigabit ethernet speeds between mp , directly attached nas.

may not work you, it's thought. have netgear readynas pro on gigabit network , can't tell difference in speeds between files on , files on 1 of internal drives on mac pro 3,1. there other companies making these small nass (thecus, qnap, synology, etc.) , don't know them. however, support group forums @ netgear (http://www.readynas.com/forum/, think) has been helpful of problems.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
