Adjusting the size of the dock - can't do it by dragging or in System Preferences

i can't drag bar between applications , folders in dock change size - nothing happens. can't change size in system preferences - option greyed out.

vaguely remember, quite time ago now, may have used sort of os x tinkering app lock dock. have run sort of terminal command undo meddling, i've googled , can't find useful.

help? :)

never mind, did bit of messing , found following command worked:

defaults delete com.apple.dock size-immutable

of course did killall dock make take effect.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
