hello-
i'm sure there other threads on this, forum search doesn't seem working me @ moment.
anyways, have mid 2010 2.4ghz i5 15" macbook pro, optional high res screen. after upgrading lion, literally had freeze on me every 2-5 minutes; unusable (as in freeze, caps lock light unresponsive); had 128gb samsung sandforce ssd, , put in stock 320gb hdd , reinstalled lion see if fix issue... long story short, didn't.
don't me wrong, features lion has , wish 1 of people happy it, time being snow leopard more reliable, @ least me.
has else had these issues, or should call applecare , macbook pro looked at? computer has had new logic board due nvidia gpu failure, before lion, don't know if computer itself.
when lion came out, went on , upgraded parents' computer, stock 2.26ghz white macbook. apart being on slow side, ram upgrade solved, computer runs lion better mine ever did... it's how expected mine run. both of these computers clean upgrade, factory image of snow leopard , iwork installed.
have suggestions, or same experience know i'm not alone?
input.
lion freeze on macbook pro
common problem on mid 2010 macbook pros. problem graphics chips switching causing freeze esp on login. fix or workaround (for moment) switch off "automatic graphics switching" (ags) in energy saver pref pane, , enable auto login bypass login freeze. machine more stable after that, battery life suffer. hope 10.7.2 fixes this.
