WiMAX Hotspot to MBP to Wireless Router via Ethernet. Possible?

background: live in japan , have uq's wimax service using uroad-9000 hockey puck-style wifi hotspot. wifi signal range of uroad unit limited due small size. not able cover entire apartment. , not have ethernet ports; connections uroad wifi-only.

attempted solution: picked netgear wn2000rpt wifi repeater in attempt extend range of wireless network signal coming wimax unit. turns out netgear repeater pos , cannot keep connection uroad unit.

possible solution using macbook pro?
question is: following series work?

uroad-9000 output wifi --> macbook pro receives --> share wifi connection through ethernet port of mbp --> connect ethernet wireless router --> wireless router outputs separate, stronger, signal remaining devices

mbp used intermediary "hardwire" wireless network of uroad wimax puck.

anyone know if work?
