Optibay and (real) spindown script?

hi there,

upgraded mbp ssd in optibay (hdd in original spot because of noise, vibration , sms). don't need hdd i've come use script that's out there spin down drive, works. when put mbp sleep , wake hard drive still unmounted hard drive spin up. if run script again spins down again.

there way permanently spin down drive ? i'm guessing no, unfortunately.

if not, use sleepwatcher execute script on wake don't need manually.
if that, possible run script while on battery power? (can applescript? sort of "if on battery power do...")
don't need drive spin down while plugged in.

want have hdd spun down time use battery lot , take quite hit hdd on.

i think running on wake real solution.

access script via alfred. meant press 3 keys , done. quick whenever hdd made sound shouldn't hit them.

have switched 320gb hdd 1tb , time formated in exfat. before 1 partition hfs+ , 1 ntfs. disk sleep works reason never did work before.

maybe should try it. never run scripts anymore. disksleep set 1 min , wakes when shouldn't , within minute sleeps again.
works quite without scripts.

assume either spotlight ran amok on hfs+ or ntfs driver didn't work. tried exclude both drives spotlight didn't work since everytime unmounted spotlight forgot settings. stopped searching them though never found on them knows might still have checked them time.
maybe spotlight smarter accessing exfat partitions. knows.

yes , if have istat running. thing has bug smart monitoring. check (and wake up) drives no matter what. doesn't care if smart monitoring checked. solution know set interval 1 hour in case wakes every hour or disable istat sensors.

don't see battery life taking significant hit when hdd running prefer spun down because of noise. 5400rpm still more quiet when off.
