Fieldfolio: Anyone hear of this new book style case?

i reading on tuaw , noticed review fieldfolio book case ipad 2.

comes in variety of colors , has plastic insert place ipad in opposed black stickers companies dodocase uses

put order in gray fieldfolio , wondering if has heard case.

 

i interest in field folio thing stopped me doesn't quite have stand. guess no case perfect haven't found reviews yet either...

in few words, fieldfolio can described drop-dead gorgeous. cases use high-quality linen mill has been making material 150 years. gives outside of case smooth, yet grippable finish on recycled material board. linen available in 6 different colors: black, gray (which looks linen used in os x lion), orange, blue, green, , pink.

each case shipped card hand-signed fieldfolio co-founder alistair newton , shrink-wrapped protection. after removing shrink-wrap, can see lightly embossed "fieldfolio" on spine of "book," , upon opening case frame holds ipad 2 becomes visible.

dodocase purists may decry use of thermoplastic polyurethane (tpu) shell frame, me it's source of delight. dodocase uses bamboo wood frame looks nice , renewable material, slight variations in size , shape require small pads in corners of frame hold ipad securely. pads tend slip , fall out if take ipad out of dodocase, point san francisco-based company has special page ordering free replacement set.

not tpu shell in fieldfolio. ipad 2 snaps right in , held securely, no concerns little corner pads falling out. fieldfolio has hole ipad 2's back-facing camera, strategically-placed cutouts speaker, dock connector, volume rocker, mute button / orientation lock, microphone, headphone port, , sleep/wake/off/on button.

1 more thing... fieldfolio has included set of rare-earth magnets in cover of case work ipad 2's magnet array. result? cover turns ipad 2 on , off, apple's own smart covers.
functionality

product this, there's not other fieldfolio wonderful job of protecting ipad 2 , looks while it's doing it. give fieldfolio points smart cover-like magnet array, easy-to-use internal frame holding ipad in place, , hole taking photos without removing ipad case (as necessary dodocase).
conclusion

in opinion, fieldfolio has surpassed dodocase product in same price range , in many ways works better book folio case pioneer. colors bright , cheery, internal frame holds ipad 2 securely, there's no need remove ipad case take photo rear-facing camera, , way linen looks , feels refreshing.
