What is true 4G? And why doesn't the iPhone have it?

from understand, carrier technically qualifies 4g sprint, aka wimax network. correct, or misconception?
 

true 4g lte or wimax 2.0. hspa+ faster 3g.

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
