Migration Assistant also migrated the mess; should I do a clean install?

i got new macbook air , used migration assistant migrate apps, files , settings 2008 macbook pro.

problem inherited messy user account (one main account, documents listed under another); fault messages refering folders can't find; , heap of orphans partly uninstalled apps.

i'm little wary of doing clean install of lion on mba , having manually migrate stuff mbp.

mba works fine, fear i've started out on wrong foot , run trouble later.

should do? clean install , manual migration easy non-techie?

a clean install might remove junk, @ point still have decide move , not to.

alternative, delete "messy" user account , migrate or restore 1 that's in better shape. or create new user administrative privileges , start anew.
