Would a Mac Mini be a good purchase for my purpose?

i have 2010 mbp running allot, fine because handle's tasks pretty good. i've mentioned on here before allot allot video encoding, video editing, streaming, etc. , feel core 2 duo not enough sometimes. able leave running @ home things big downloads , large scale video encodes without me having leave primary computer (mbp) @ home. have 17" 4:3 ratio vga monitor (with adapter minidisplay), mouse , keyboard. getting mac mini good? of older models or newest models perform macbook pro @ mulittasking while let function alone? in advance! :) not looking spend more 600-700 dollars.
 

you should list specs of macbook pro "which isn't enough." specs in signature incomplete.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
