Video editing software

i'm amateur e2008 mac pro running latest lion , want make music videos. final cut pro not in budget , seems little deep needs. can't seem find imovie on clean install of lion , went missing on clean install of snow leopard.

suggestions inexpensive semi-powerful video editing application? ilife imovie best bet?

want able text overlays (titles), video layering, split screens, limited fx, etc.. i'm total amateur when comes video don't know language -- know want tools able creative.

note have solid skills in photoshop, flash, illustrator, dreamweaver , pro tools i'm quick study... don't want wast money on ilife if there better option.
 

ilife should still on second grey restore dvd, came mac , can install again in ilife (if compatible lion). lion not include ilife.
try imovie , see, if can want, though video layering bit hard that.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
