Free RAM becomes Inactive after amount of idle time.

has come across this, , bug?

imac has 4gb of ram, , right have safari (3 tabs) , itunes open (doing nothing syncing apps iphone).

had 2.99gb of free memory on activity monitor, , went downstairs prepare dinner , left mac running. when returned 40 minutes later , checked activity monitor again, 2.99gb of ram showing inactive, 30.8mb of free memory available.

nothing else opened, nothing else running.

anyone?
 

what problem here? know inactive ram available free ram, right?

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
