hello everyone,

here's thing. use itunes on macbook pro 13" (early 2011 10.7.1, updates installed) , works splendidly, strange happens. of sudden not able play music more. diamond showing songs progress doesn't move , stays @ 0. also, else happens @ same time... youtube video's play, don't have sound. other online video, such video played facebook's default player, play have no sound. rebooting macbook solves problem, wondering if there different way solve this, preferably permanently. when problem occurs , try watch movie quicktime hangs, , doesn't play. discoball of death shown , forced force quit quicktime.

anyway, these problems seem connected, cause?

same problem

i've been having same exact problem last couple of days. seems every time restarted mac (running latest updates of os x lion) able play media through vlc, itunes, chrome, etc. if quit application , tried open again, videos *sometime* play without audio , audio files move 0:00 marker on seek bar.

did find fix recently, although not how permanent is.

1. open terminal
2. type "sudo killall coreaudiod" (without quotes)
3. enter root password when prompted

thats all. wait few seconds lion restart coreaudiod , audio/video should work again (at least did me).

Permissions Problem?

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
