in highest end imac (upgraded 3.4ghz core i7 cpu) clock speed turbo boost to?
reason i'm asking:
i'm comparing macbook pro imac
macbook pro specs:
2.3ghz quad-core intel core i7
4gb 1333mhz ddr3 sdram - 2x2gb
amd radeon hd 6750m 1gb gddr5
500gb serial ata drive @ 7200 rpm
macbook pro 15-inch hi-res glossy widescreen display
imac specs:
3.4ghz quad-core intel core i7
4gb 1333mhz ddr3 sdram - 2x2gb
1tb serial ata drive
amd radeon hd 6970m 1gb gddr5
mbp turbo boosts 3.4ghz (same speed imac), same ram, same speed hard drive (500gb enough me not issue), graphics give around same performance in games?
help! i'm getting new mac next year - computers refreshed may still 2011 models, depends on how big upgrade
highest end imac 3.4ghz i7 can turboboosted 3.8ghz on single core operation.
really, cpu-wise .. imac i7 vs mbp i7 not different. mbp's quad core i7 aint no slouch either daily tasks , operations. go figure benchmarks on internet , can find mbp's cpu power close desktop i7.
gpu matters between two. gpu on highest end mbp = lowest end imac. , 6970m on hi-end imac beat shoot out of mbp anytime. upcoming games battlefield can played on highest end imac no problem (well maybe tweak bit setting down, maybe)
again can't bring imac anywhere, no? being in mobile era, mac desktop face great danger
people getting less , less use , buy desktop anymore. go cheapest mba available compensate mobility. near comfort working on imac honest
