How To Make a Cheap Mac-based Home Server


hey guys, yesterday got "sawtooth" agp graphics powermac g4. i'm using file server/itunes streaming box share media macs. it's first server i've set home use, things of nature @ work (computer administrator @ isd) time. after spending few hours getting right, decided making pdf of how make macintosh-based homeserver save people time, money , worries if they've been looking subject. i'd it'd fun father-son bonding thing do, if 2 geeks. :d

follow guide, need is:
-g4-based (or newer) mac has networking capabilities (ethernet and/or airport).
-lan (local area network, must have 1 if you're browsing internet on computer :p)
-a little time (maybe weekend, unless order things , have wait them arrive :p)

plan on adding pictures, , maybe little more details (about itunes library set-ups) pdf in near future. right it's 4:49am though, i'm dead tired. i've been working on since midnight.

what im reading how set screen sharing , shared drives in mac os. hardly server configuration in there.

i'm kind of interested in because use itunes home sharing right , while seems work, i'd prefer solution machines hare same library, playlists, etc. info on that?
