Backup to iCloud - Why?

after spending hours downloading , installing ios5 on iphone 4 last night found option backup icloud instead of locally.

advantage of this? surely using time machine captures backup data. why restore idevice cloud? plus judging how long took install new os locally take hours!
 

cloud backups less prone hard drive failure time machine backup.

well, that's assuming apple implemented enterprise-standard data storage redundancy @ data center(s), that's safe bet.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
