iMac + 2nd Monitor + PS3 set up

i have late 2009 imac i5 27" use ps3 gaming (with kanex xd), considering adding 2nd monitor workspace (not 27" isn't enough, i'm spoiling myself @ point, lol) , can plug ps3 1080p (kanex allows 720), , if there multiple people in room 1 use imac while others play games. want both imac , ps3 inputting 2nd monitor (to used @ separate times of course).

before buy bunch of stuff want show plan , check guys if work? i'm linking products thinking of getting, words of warning or other recommendations appreciated. i've never had 2 screens , don't want buy junk , find out myself won't work. ;)

figure need hdmi switcher (so ps3 , imac both go monitor), minidisplay hdmi output cable, hdmi cable connect minidisplay cable switch box, , of course monitor (which if kind need hdmi dvi adapter). after no longer need or have room kanex xd , sell cost quite bit.

and have 1 other question... have set of speakers plugged 5mm jack on imac. if i'm playing ps3 on second monitor, i'm assuming audio never output jack. monitor linked has dvi , vga input. how make sure audio works right? or better off finding different monitor?

that sounds pretty complicated way of going it. think should find different monitor. 1 has hdmi input ps3 , mdp, vga, dvi or whatever imac.

personally, i'm thinking of getting dell u2711 myself this, i'm pretty sure can speakers dell too. pretty expensive option, have around , see else can find.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
