How low in prices do iPad competitors have to go to compete?

apparently new hp/palm touchpad being marked down on $100 less weeks after it's launch. it's less $400.

add anemic sales of vast majority of tablets.

@ price point consumers start buying other tablets strictly on value?

right now, it's estimated tablet manufacturing costs range $300-350 per device (screen, memory, etc).

$400 has got razor thin margin hp selling tablet when factor in labor plus advertising costs.

know technology prices go down in prices , maybe next year may cost cost less $250 make device. apparently there few buyers out there these discounted ipad competitors.

the longer takes android tablets become streamlined, user friendly, , supported developers, more irrelevant be. @ ipods vs. other mp3 players example.

@ point, don't think techie or complete sucker listened techie's advice buy ipad or maybe galaxy tab since samsung bothers advertising stuff.

in end, ipad becoming more , more synonymous "tablet".
