Viewing hard drive contents on faulty imac ?

hi everyone, please me.

bought faulty mid 2007 imac (model a1224) powers show black screen. see if programs on the faulty imac's hard drive. there way of doing ? ( imac has hard drive because opened up)

tried connecting faulty imac mac mini ( model a1176) via firewire , using target mode on mac mini, however, can stage there grey background large firewire symbol moving around screen.

know have next beyond grey background , firewire symbol ? have screen sharing enabled ? how when can't beyond black screen on faulty 2007 imac ?

advice , input appreciate

if have access mac can start broken machine in target disk mode. here apple's instructions doing so:

straight forward , simple way. other have remove hd , put enclosure.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
