PowerMac G4 Not Recognizing CamCorder

hi all,

i'm trying import video tape on panasonic pv-gs31 camcorder. have 'dv firewire 400' cable connected directly the powermac g4 won't recognize in imovie 6 hd. , yes, have camera turned on in playback mode.

went system profiler , looked @ firewire bus... didn't show connected it. it's starting annoy me can't find fix this.

can tell me i'm doing wrong?
 

can hands on camera? tested different cable? sure fw port in camera not fried?

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
