Marco Arment on iOS5 storage "cleaning"

the creator of instapaper has a great article new behavior in ios5: "cleaning" of files put in cache or tmp storage areas of ios device.

in nutshell, problem ios 5's storage model doesn't accomodate concept of files users download offline viewing. if run ios device small amount of free space, may find instapaper documents have been "cleaned" device.

marco has gotten notes fellow developers saw instapaper files disappearing beta ios 5 devices. general release of ios 5, bracing flood of reports regular customers.

tactical recommendation users: mindful of free space, when you're offline (or offline) extended periods.

strategic recommendation: consider buying ios devices more storage think might need.

i'm sure apple recognizes problem; hope won't have wait ios 6 solution. sounds developers need have directory files should protected shouldn't backed icloud.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
