Hard Drive Question

so messing around today , looked see how hard drive space have left. looked , weird reason shows have 262gb's of other? idea be. have looked @ size of videos have imported picutres , music , gets no near data. great! thanks! btw macbook pro 2011 500gb hd, 2.0 ghz, 4gb ram.
 

i'm guessing other free space. can verify looking @ info window (right-click or control+click) hard drive (macintosh hd?).

use grandperspective give me graphical representation of taking space, represented squares in squares (folders in folders). it's been while since i've ran app, don't think shows free space part of result.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
