New alu keyboard - volume keys do not work

my aluminum keyboard had hooked mbp died, due self-inflicted action (too liquid on keyboard when cleaning it).

anyways bought new one, lo , behold volume keys not work.

either pressing f11/f12 keys or pressing fn+f12. tried setting/resetting use f1, f2 etc keys standard function keys in keyboard preference no avail.

tried zapping pram failed well.

keyboard preference appears doing setting keyboard preferences macbook pro's keyboard. selecting keyboard shortcuts tab , selecting internal vs apple keyboard not either.

if plug in old partially non-functioning keyboard volume keys work expect them too, not new keyboard.

suggestions or help?

on 13" macbook pro, running 10.6.7
 

you appear have exhausted of 1 can reasonably expect try remedy situation. curiosity's sake try plugging new keyboard different computer see if keys work then.

in case sounds need keyboard replaced.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
