New iMac, two old MacBooks, migration assistant and setup?

my wife , have used our own portables, purchased 27 inch imac share. can use migration assistant transfer data new imac , log off, sign in on account on imac , transfer data onto account? method keep our iphoto data separate? there way combine our itunes easily? using home sharing previously. other tips appreciated in reference transfer speeds (ethernet vs firewire) or other important details. much.
 

migration assistant not merge users. create new user accounts. if either of machines has user account that's not necessary, unnecessary info, simpler delete user.

it's not straight-forward merge itunes libraries. easiest through itunes home sharing.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
