i did aht because last month or so, fans on late 2008 15" macbook pro have been going full speed, battery died while ago, before fans became noisy, , think error message has it.
in energy saver preferences, set higher performance, have tried better battery life setting , fans go quiet while, same rpm apps cpu hungry start up.
there not unusual showing in activity monitor in terms of cpu usage, apart kernel_task consistently uses around 66 threads, (not sure if that's relevant or not.)
have read on other discussions error code, seems heat sensor failing because of dead battery, , therefore causing excessive heat , noisy fans, , therefore sluggish performance of machine.

have been putting off buying new battery time, may have bite bullet. question is, new battery fix issue of high fan rpm/heat/sluggish performance?
 

highly doubt it. sounds sensor issue in macbook pro. issue know of deals sluggish performance , battery if remove battery , operate macbook pro directly on ac adapter.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
