Why should I give AT&T my business? What a clusterf*ck


i agonized on whether go verizon or at&t pair of 4s phones wife , i. wanted verizon, i've had them in past , had no problems , dead reliable coverage-wise, got talked out of them because of crappy slow network , limited speed/features of verizon network.

put in order at&t phones. did through own website @ onset of preorders, since apple's site wasn't working.

had no issues on end putting in order on at&t's site.

next day received email said account had been flagged identity verification. there no reason this, , when called big fiasco/hassle of people having no clue do. had read email sent me first 2 people, had no clue do. got transferred couple more times before got through had clue. kicker was, asked me no identity verification questions separate me scammer, because asked me ssn , birthday, 2 things entered order form begin with, in other words, scammer had. whatever, got taken care of after 1.5 hours on phone transfers, ineptitude, , holds.

fast forward couple days, , confirmation email, new numbers assigned. @ numbers, , realize not local, , don't recognize area code. google area code, , numbers provided virgin islands, live in mn. wondering hell, call them again. explain want local area codes, , somehow got these numbers. after being bounced around 5-6 times, holding each time, , explaining problem each time, comes out not did assign me long distance numbers, another customer's active numbers tied else's active at&t account. couple more transfers , tell me getting new phone numbers proper mn area codes. time lost: 2 hours.

asked if kind of bloody confirmation number, confirmation email, type of documentation showing number change. lady tells me department isn't authorized send email. wtf??? asked if confirmation number. don't confirmation numbers either. wtf??? ask can give me, , can't give me anything, have wait receive shipped email when phone goes out. wtf?? @ point ok, fine, whatever, guess i'll play wait , see game , turn on phone , see phone number when it.

fast forward yesterday. confirmation email. pleasantly surprised, open expecting see new phone numbers in otherwise identical email first confirmation email. nope. instead, it's same **** virgin islands phone numbers, ones supposedly had spent 2 hours fixing. didn't have energy call yesterday. while people in arms shipping dates, etc., want know have correct phone numbers aren't tied in else's bill or account.

today decide instead of sitting on phone, i'll go online chat route , ask 1 simple question: phone numbers on account? if new ones, problem solved, , if old ones, i'll go through hassle again. go online chat, guy worthless. can't tell me anything, can't me, can't tell me ****ing phone numbers attached own account/order number. tells me call.

called again. again, explained story numbers, not sure if understands problem, , placed on hold can wait explain else again. after 27 minutes, disconnected me.

virtually fuming @ point.

called again, , did same ol' crap, several transfers, several explanations, several times waiting on hold. through lady can account , see did not change phone numbers, said would, rather had put note in computer denoting new numbers. tells me cannot , not change phone number until have phone in hand, , call them again , go through whole process again.

@ end of it, still don't have problem fixed, , i'm gonna out lot of time on friday trying fix problem on launch day, , @ end of day have no idea if i'll tied else's account or not.

why shouldn't cancel order entirely? at&t far has proven largely incompetent, disconnected, , inefficient. on end went fine order, how can have many problems (and problems of kind), in year 5 of iphone? can understand issues/technical difficulties, sheer level of ineptitude have encountered them makes me wonder why hell should give them $150 month.
 

just wow... mean have been dealing bs last year horrible reception issues , not, in addition being lied when going fixed, on whole different level. can relate frustrations bc i've had deal 1 many times. hope situation works out on friday. you're best bet go at&t store can resolve it. let them deal headache of having call customer service in-store if cannot fix @ terminals. soo lazy it's not funny.
