in june, apple began work on $6.6 million upgrade of plaza , glass cube @ iconic flagship retail store on fifth avenue in manhattan. barriers surrounding plaza , glass cube went up, customers continuing access store through covered passageway leading main entrance. @ time work began, planning documents revealed apple removing glass cube , working on drainage, pavers, , bollards on plaza, unclear changes apple making cube itself.
