Macbook Pro shutting off at 5% battery life

i upgraded macbook pro (was bought in 2006) bigger hard-drive, more ram, , installed snow leopard. (10.6.8)

got new battery because old 1 holding 40 minutes of charge (while computer idling) not enough uses.

before go on, here system specs:

macbook pro (late 2006)
mac osx 10.6.8
2.33 ghz intel core 2 duo
4 gb 667 mhz ddr2 sdram
ati radeon x1600

computer shuts down when remaining battery level @ 5% exactly. happened old battery , before installed of upgrades.

have tried numerous solutions, including resetting smc , pram. both batteries recalibrate them every 1-2 months. new 1 has 6 cycles on (just installed couple of days ago.) , still have problem.

gives 'low battery warning' @ 10% should, shuts down @ 5% , not go special sleep mode. when shuts down, try reboot not turn on -- battery depleted. when plug in power adapter start charging it, can boot-up. but, then, none of work saved have been in 'safe sleep mode'.

again, tried resetting smc , pram, did not work either batteries. please provide me other solutions. (oh, , mac out of warranty considering bought 5 years ago.)

thank you.

on 2006 mbp never saw count down past 5, maybe down 4 or 3 it. i'd 5 seems pretty accurate, opposed 20 when have problem.

if recall on 2006 nothing ever saved automatically. window came , warned me save progress lose if lost power. thinks it's acting should (including not being able turn on if shut off without being plugged in). imo, if you're getting 2-3 hour charge on battery wouldn't stress out 5% shut-down. feel free download coconutbattery , istat see if report different. wouldn't stress 5%.
