27" new iMac hard drive spinning all the time,

hi all,

have brought imac running smoothly until today. after transferring data windows machine approx 500gb, internal drive keeps spinning, defrag session ? if so, how can monitor proccess? internet buffeting videos ok it's not network , operating system actions seem slow, memory?

if think know please comment below, grateful ideas may have .

there no defrag on osx, might indexing it.

navigate applications -> utilities , fire activity monitor , looking processes eating cpu cycles...

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
