Which option for university?

i going university in city (sydney cbd) next year. living @ home , commuting (1 hour in total each day). wanted make move pc mac , perfect time. have dell desktop plan on getting rid of , dell laptop high school, must return after graduation in septemeber.

needs include word processing, email, internet, photos, music/movies, calendar , few games. times need portability
taking uni group work, library if full , travel. handwrite notes of time.

thinking of getting macbook pro 13" computer , find bad posture looking down @ laptop long periods of time. prefer 15" expensive. laptop portability , power in one. concern laptop overheat if using long periods of time.

second option getting , imac , ipad 2. imac typing papers, games (i.e sims), movies , more stable laptop. thinking of getting ipad 2 supplement ipad 2 , use note taking (with stylus), textbooks, organiser, movies, internet , email, photos , education apps. option cheaper getting mbp 15"

need laptop make presentations @ university or need 1 @ if ipad surf web, check emails , type (with imac keyboard)?

option better needs?

answers appreciated:)

wirelessly posted (ipod touch 2nd gen: mozilla/5.0 (ipod; u; cpu iphone os 4_2_1 mac os x; fr-fr) applewebkit/533.17.9 (khtml, gecko) version/5.0.2 mobile/8c148 safari/6533.18.5)

if 13" mbp , external monitor. more screen real estate, can take computer you. , while don't own ipad, think isn't ready laptop replacement yet.

edit: mbp gets real hot when playing cod4, , then, can use smcfancontrol keep fans spinning, hence cooling computer. hd video can produce heat, nothing dramatic.
