My current iMac (2010) model vs base model Macbook Pro 13" (2011)

my current imac in sig , use editing video footage. if there 1 thing wish had esata connection work external drives @ while firewire 800 esata faster.

of footage edit converted, while editing computer can handle straight cuts, , basic transitions , coloring. in end when add effects (if any) when need render , time spent writing external drive via firewire 800 , uses cpu power.


current imac 3.06ghz 8gbs of ram , replaced old macbook pro (2007 model) night , day difference. concern this..... plan on buying macbook pro when need work/edit away workstation.

outside of graphics card how mbp 13" 2.3ghz i5 compare imac 21.5" i3 3.06ghz?

if it's comparable have no problems, if mbp lot less powerful need rethink things. appreciated

 

well, in terms of cpu, new i5 13" mbp faster imac. go it, , bump ram 8 gb; you'll fine.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
