what best way of accomplishing task?
use openafs access disk space offered through univeristy. have folder on desktop give me direct access.
however, in order access space, must use command "klog username" , follow password in terminal. "authenticates," me or obtains token.
want automatically on boot, or when click folder. best way of doing this. going save command ".command," run on startup, 2 (2) problems.
1) it's not single command, after klog username, must enter password.
2) don't want save password in plain text.
most efficient way of accomplishing task? sure there many convoluted ways of doing this, want minimize overhead.
first off, don't want @ boot, want @ login. important distinction, since afs token applies user, not computer.
there not going way of avoiding providing password, , way script going have have password embedded it. afs administrator (rightly) requires authenticate, , saving passwords bad security.
in theory possible create binary use afs codebase , able use keychain (so stash password there), out-of-scope problem.
advice: suck , keep going.
