Slow motion & other effects in iMovie 11

i making movies in imovie 11 digital video camcorder (sony digital 8 tapes captured imovie) , digital camera video , palm pre video. converted mpg movies mp4.

cannot slow motion effects become available use. have tried video 3 of sources.

how can use slow motion features?

have macbook pro.

i forgot mention having problem when making trailer only. feature works fine larger clips in movie.

shall assume slow motion type of effects not available smaller clips? idea how big clip must be?

assume not jut problem when making trailers vs movies.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
