Resolved External Hard Drive not being detected in Mac

i downloaded lion recovery disk onto external hard drive (500gb western digital), , works when plug in when need reinstall mac osx lion. not work when plug in use storage drive.
what?!

little here?
why isn't detecting?
works... not detecting.
same windows, it's not detecting external hard drive.
 

did merely move .dmg file drive, or did install drive? if latter, drive unusable until formatted. if i'm not mistaken, lion recovery disk makes invisible drive/partition can accessed on boot.

try see if disk utility spots drive.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
