today called 1-800-my-apple , told them wanted purchase applecare+ iphone , guy told me need go apple store purchase it. thought stupid thought maybe see phone isn't broken drove 45 minutes closest apple store.
upon arrival told lady wanted purchase apple care , told me bit of wait because of how busy are. no problem! 30-40 minutes after being there guy came me , asked needed purchase apple care , told him wanted iphone 4s. told me can not in apple store , need call apple care purchase it. 
drove home , called applecare. after being on hold literally 33 minutes, told guy answered wanted purchase applecare+. told me "you need go apple store purchase applecare+ iphone 4s if didn't purchase when purchased iphone 4s"
told him wanted speak manager because wasted on 2 hours driving apple store , , 30+ minutes waiting on hold. literally argued me "manager won't able either". after 5 minutes of telling him on , on again see manager says, got manager.
manager gets on phone , explain situation , says "okay, great! i'd love applecare+ added iphone 4s. serial number?" !!!!!!!!!!?????!!!!!!????? told , apologized , said "if take money off iphone inconvenience would, can't. instead, let @ apple.com , pick $150 inconvenience"
yay! jawbone era bluetooth headset here before october 19th - , free!!! why buy apple products... because great deal , correct situations when aren't.
