Audio crackling/monitor inteferance - power supply issue?

i use macbook pro audio/music production. purchased buffalo 1tb drive station external hard drive raw data storage. problem arose when plugged in morning, plugged usb leads side of laptop , loud crackling came out of speakers , external monitor turned desktop raw static. once plugged in absolutely fine , worked okay, including hard drive, monitor , speakers.

thought problem must come amount of power supplies involved , interference patterns , laptop's ability handle it. laptop powered wall. external hd, monitor , speakers powered surge protected extension adaptor thing separate socket laptop's power supply.

concern i'm going doing quite , there wrong. need know how fix problem before damage part of expensive set up. have overloaded surge extension lead? laptop acting sort of crazy conductor? pretty worried.

sorting out appreciated because can relate to, there lot of valuable gear @ stake.

you should pretty never plug straight wall--especially if have surge supressor available.

Permissions Problem?

hello. unable log on computer. took mac store , said had problem permissions. reset computer's permissions , able log onto computer. however, since dock resets day had permissions problem. example, had various cs5 programs on dock. when upgraded cs5.5, replaced cs5 shortcuts cs5.5 counterparts. however, when restarted computer, cs5 icons still there. also, whenever restart computer, browser history resets whatever on day encountered permissions problem. can not save bookmarks. also, files required type in password whenever try moving or deleting file. there other problems wanted see if knows problem have before adding more problems. thank   Forums Macs macOS macOS iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Comput...

iPhone won't sync with iTunes
